Career Milestone Guarantee

Terms & Conditions
Effective date: 21 August 2025
Applies to: all Career Accelerator programmes, delivered in partnership with FourthRev (“the Programme”).

1) Purpose & scope

1.1. These Terms govern the Career-Milestone Guarantee (“Guarantee”). The Guarantee provides additional coaching support at no extra cost if a qualifying learner has not achieved an agreed milestone within 12 months from starting the Programme.
1.2. The Guarantee does not provide tuition refunds, job placement, or any form of employment guarantee. It is a coaching extension only.

2) Key definitions

2.1. Graduate / You: a learner who has completed the Programme with a passing grade and has been awarded the Programme credential.
2.2. Graduation Date: the date on which the Programme provider confirms completion and issues the credential.
2.3. Guarantee Window: the period from the day the programme starts starts to 12 calendar months later.
2.4. Career Coach: a coach assigned or approved by the Programme provider.
2.5. Career Coaching Tracker: a written plan agreed with your coach in Course 1 of the Programme and reviewed in Courses 2 and 3, covering target roles/industries, application strategy, and evidence to produce (portfolio, projects, etc.).
2.6. Milestone (Qualifying): Achieving any one of the following outcomes, evidenced as set out in 6:

  • New role in subject area or adjacent field (full-time, part-time or fixed-term).
  • Promotion or pay rise in a relevant pathway.
  • Paid consulting/freelance engagement in subject area (invoice or signed SoW).
  • Alternative Milestone: a professional outcome pre-agreed with your coach in Course 1 and recorded in the Career Coaching Tracker. Examples include: an internal secondment/project; significant open-source contribution; conference presentation; peer-reviewed publication; transition into an adjacent but desirable role; completion of a substantial portfolio/side project.

2.7. Target Geography: the country/region you and your coach identify in the career Coaching Tracker for your job search.

3) What the Guarantee provides

3.1. If you do not achieve a Milestone within the Guarantee Window and you meet the Eligibility Criteria (4) and Learner Obligations (5), the provider will extend your 1:1 coaching for up to six (6) months at no additional cost.
3.2. The extension entitles you to up to six (6) × 50-minute 1:1 sessions, typically one per month (“Extra-Coaching”).
3.3. Extra-Coaching is delivered by the existing coach pool and may be reassigned at the provider’s discretion.
3.4. The Guarantee ends earlier if you achieve a Milestone before the end of the Extra-Coaching entitlement.

4) Eligibility criteria

To qualify for the Guarantee and any Extra-Coaching, you must satisfy all of the following:
4.1. Programme completion: complete 100% of assessed coursework and projects at a passing grade.
4.2. Coaching engagement: schedule and attend at least 7 of the 12 monthly coaching sessions available as part of the Programme.
4.3. Career Coaching Tracker: agree your goal with your coach before the end of Course 1, and proactively update your coach with your progress in Course 2 and Course 3.
4.4. Right to work: You must (a) hold the unrestricted right to work in your Target Geography or (b) acknowledge in writing that employer visa sponsorship is outside the scope of this Guarantee.
4.5. Within time: request the Guarantee within the Guarantee Window (7).

5) Ongoing learner obligations (during the Guarantee Window)

You must demonstrate sustained, verifiable search activity. Each calendar month you must either:
5.1. Submit ≥ 8 relevant applications (roles or consulting) with evidence, of which all applications must be tailored (role-specific CV + cover or equivalent), and
5.2. Meet at least four (4) of the five (5) activity targets below:

  • 6 networking outreaches (e.g., LinkedIn or email) with screenshot/log.
  • 2 informational interviews / coffee chats logged.
  • 1 professional thought-leadership post (e.g., LinkedIn, GitHub project note).
  • Side-project/portfolio progress aligned to target role skills (short update).
  • Quarterly: attend or present at ≥ 1 industry event (meetup/webinar/conference) and upload proof (this counts towards the month in which it occurs).

5.3. Provide your latest CV, LinkedIn URL, and portfolio for coach review when requested.
5.4. Keep a simple activity log (Programme templates accepted) and submit upon request (11).

Flexibility: Meeting 4 of 5 monthly targets allows for life events while keeping momentum. Your coach can guide how to prioritise activity quality over volume.

6) Evidence requirements (meeting a Milestone)

Provide the applicable evidence below (copies/screenshots acceptable):
6.1. New role: signed contract or HR/email offer with role title and start date.
6.2. Promotion/pay rise: HR/email evidence confirming new title/grade and/or compensation change (e.g., pre- and post-payslip or HR letter).
6.3. Paid consulting: invoice(s) or signed Statement of Work.
6.4. Alternative Milestone: evidence as appropriate to the item recorded in your Career Coaching Tracker (e.g., internal secondment confirmation, conference agenda/speaker listing, repository contribution, acceptance letter).

7) How to request the Guarantee (claims process)

7.1. Email guarantee@fourthrev.com within the Guarantee Window with:

  • Your full name, Programme, cohort, and Graduation Date.
  • A short statement that you are invoking the Guarantee.
  • Evidence of monthly activity per 5 (log/screenshots) and your latest CV + LinkedIn URL.

7.2. The provider will acknowledge within 5 working days and verify within 10 working days. You may be asked for clarifications or additional documents.
7.3. If approved, you will be notified and your Coach will contact you.
7.4. If not approved, you will receive reasons and (where appropriate) guidance to re-submit with missing evidence.

8) Pause, Deferral, & Guarantee Continuation

8.1. Deferral during the Career Accelerator:

  • If you are granted an approved deferral from the main Career Accelerator (as per the separate Programme Deferral Policy), your Guarantee eligibility will remain active.
  • Any associated coaching and support will be paused for the duration of the approved deferral and will recommence when you return to the Programme. The Guarantee Window will be extended by the length of the approved deferral.
  • Any pause or deferral exceeding 30 consecutive days without an approved reason voids Guarantee eligibility.

8.2. Pause during the Guarantee Window (after the Career Accelerator while Coaching is still active):

  • The Guarantee Window may be paused for up to three (3) months where you provide documented evidence of:
    • A medical condition preventing job searching.
    • Compulsory care duties.
    • Visa-processing delays.
  • The Provider’s written approval is required for any pause.

8.3. Geography:

  • If you permanently relocate to a region with no practical hiring market for the outcome you are pursuing as part of the Guarantee (as reasonably determined by the Provider), the Guarantee may be suspended.

9) Exclusions & limitations

The Guarantee does not apply where:
9.1. You fail to meet any Eligibility Criteria (4) or monthly obligations (5).
9.2. You are dismissed for misconduct or breach an employer’s code of conduct.
9.3. Your inability to work arises from visa ineligibility, sanctions, or other right-to-work constraints outside the provider’s control.
9.4. You seek benefits other than the defined Extra-Coaching (e.g., refunds, cash, job placement services, recruiter services).
9.5. You decline reasonable Extra-Coaching schedules or repeatedly no-show sessions (≥ 2 missed sessions without 24-hour notice may forfeit that month’s entitlement).

10) Delivery & fair use of Extra-Coaching

10.1. Sessions are delivered online (video) and scheduled to accommodate business hours in the UK and Europe.
10.2. Rescheduling with ≥ 24-hour notice will be accommodated where possible.
10.3. Unused monthly sessions do not roll over beyond the six-month window, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
10.4. The provider may substitute coaches to ensure timely delivery.

11) Data & verification

11.1. You consent to submit reasonable documentation to verify applications, outreach, interviews, posts, events and project progress (screenshots or exports from common tools are acceptable).
11.2. The provider may request additional evidence to validate activity (e.g., redacted emails, portfolio links, event registrations).

12) Non-transferability & no cash alternative

12.1. The Guarantee benefit is personal to you, non-transferable, and has no cash value.
12.2. You may invoke the Guarantee once per Programme enrolment.

13) Relationship to tuition & refunds

13.1. The Guarantee is an added coaching benefit and not a tuition refund or credit. Tuition terms remain governed by your enrolment agreement.

14) Changes to the Guarantee

14.1. The provider may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will not reduce benefits already earned or apply retroactively within an active Guarantee Window without your consent.
14.2. The latest version will be posted at https://fourthrev.com/career-milestone-guarantee/; material changes will be notified by email.

15) Governing law & disputes

15.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales
15.2. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales
15.3. This does not affect any non-waivable consumer rights in your place of residence.

Short FAQ

How does the Guarantee work?
If you haven’t reached a pre-agreed milestone within 12 months of starting the programme, and you’ve met the activity and engagement requirements, we’ll extend your 1:1 coaching for six months (one 50-minute session per month) at no extra cost. No job placement guarantee.

What counts as a milestone?
A new role, a promotion/pay rise, paid consulting, or an Alternative Milestone agreed with your coach in Course 1 (e.g., internal project, conference presentation, open-source contribution, substantial portfolio completion).

What proof do I need?
Contract/HR letter for roles; HR/payslip change for promotions; invoice or signed SoW for consulting; appropriate evidence for Alternative Milestones. You’ll also keep a light monthly activity log (applications, outreach, interviews, posts, project updates).
